Getting to Alicante Airport by bus has never been easier thanks to Alicante’s excellent airport and bus connections.
The two main bus companies that operate a service from Alicante airport are Alicante Aerobus and Spain’s equivalent to the UK’s National Express, ALSA. All buses are of a high standard and come complete with air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
The bus stop at Alicante airport is right outside the departures area of the terminal on level 2.
Unlike some airports where you must purchase your tickets in advance from a kiosk or machine, at Alicante airport, you simply pay the driver when you get on the bus. Make sure you either have the exact fare or small enough bills as the driver may not be able to give change for large denomination notes.
If you are travelling to either Alicante or Elche you will want to use Alicante Aerobus. Clearly marked with a lighted sign that reads “Aeropuerto” these large blue buses run on a loop 24 hours per day 365 days a year.
The Alicante-Airport route C-6 bus runs every 20 minutes between Alicante airport and strategic locations in the city such as the main bus terminal near the port, the railway station and two stops from which you can take a city tram.
The buses are specially fitted out for travellers and have plenty of space for luggage. A bus ticket to or from Alicante airport costs 3.85€ and is obtained by paying the driver on the bus.
The journey into the city is quite pleasant as it runs along the coastline and has excellent views of the sea. It is a good way to orientate yourself with the city of Alicante providing you don’t get off at the first stop which is Alicante Bus Station.
The bus from the airport to Elche operates on Route 1A and runs from the airport to the centre of Elche with stops at Torrellano, Elche industrial park and several places in the city. A one-way ticket costs 1.50€ and is payable to the bus driver.
Route 1B: Elche-Airport -Arenales del Sol is the same as Route 1A except on its way back to the airport it makes stops in the beach towns of Playa El Altet and Arenales del Sol. The price is the same as the 1A route (1.50€) and is payable to the driver.

A one-way ticket costs 9.65€ and is payable to the driver on the bus. You can also purchase tickets in advance by visiting the ALSA website.
For passengers travelling to Alfaz del Pi, Altea and Calpe you need to change buses at the bus terminal in Benidorm.
